The meaning of the February Birth Flower, the Violet, symbolizes faithfulness, humility, and chastity.
Well maybe the final symbol is lost on us.
Historians believe Birthday celebrations and the idea of Birth Month Flowers started with Romans.
Who are we to ignore the Romans? Check out the follow gallery items you can purchase to help celebrate February!
Hand blown art glass votive candle holder.
Holds 1 tea light or 1 votive candle. Candle holders are fairly thick and sturdy. Approximate dimensions are 4 inches in diameter and 5 inches tall. They weigh about 2.5 lbs
Each votive holder is unique in the way the colors blend together. The art glass has a tendency to look completely different when rotated. We try to maximize translucency when lit. It take a vision, many hands, two layers of molten glass, three layers of color and a 2000 degree furnace to make one glass votive. Each votive is handmade and signed by the artist. Since every one is a unique piece of art, each will shine with its own lively, signature glow when lit.
Dehanna strives for perfection, but small bubbles, color and size variations are all indicative of hand blown glass.
Soda lime glass is not dishwasher, oven or microwave safe.
Please clean with glass cleaner or warm soapy water.
If you like a votive, but prefer a different color mix take a look at the others available. They come in 20 different variations.
Our hand blown glass floats are great for just about everything except bouncing. Use them in your garden pond or bird bath as yard decorations. And, Yes! They float! Or, bring them inside as room decorations or centerpieces nestled in a dish or basket.
They are a very durable indoor/outdoor colorful decorative accent. Safe for fish and feathers.
They are available in 3 inch, 4 inch, 5 inch and 6 inch diameters. Each ball is individually created and unique in the way the colors blend together. The art glass has a tendency to look completely different when rotated. Please note that since each ball is unique, the ball will come from the same color batch as the one pictured, but the float you receive may have a slightly different distribution of colors and sometimes a bit of a swirl. They are finished with a clear decorative flower stamp. This stamp has a tendency to float down.
They are not recommended for swimming pools, hot tubs, bath tubs, or near bare feet. They are very durable, but accidents do happen.
They are not painted but, colored glass and will not fade in the sun. Please wash with vinegar or a hard water deposit cleaner.
Dehanna Jones is the designer and principal producer of her artwork made in her Seattle based hot glass studio where she works with the help of 2 assistants. They are part of her glass blowing team, helping heat color and the bits of clear glass that are necessary to form the color patterns. Plus they are just good company.
“My glass work is created by a combination of traditional glass blowing techniques and my attraction to intense color. I first gather molten glass from a 2150 degree furnace on a blow pipe and colorize each vessel with the raw elements that make color. My work is not painted, but colored glass manipulated while hot to form pattern. I use the transparency of glass to transmit and reflect light through the layers of opaque color to increase the surface intensity while retaining the smooth glossy nature of blown glass.”
