Like the Red Flame vases and low bowls the ring of fire came on a intense red opaque body over-layed with transparent swirled orange, red & yellow streaks allowing the under colors to show through giving the surface a lot of depth in the color creating the essence of fire and the rolled red lip. Solid flames are applied to the lip. This piece was commissioned in 2000 as a christmas gift for Tina Perkins, of Seattle Wa. There were only three made. Hers, Mine (the extra), and the sample. |
